Week 38: Guess what day it is?? HUMP DAY

Hola everyone!

This week was great. It is starting to cool down a bit, finally. It is still very hot, and I'm only slightly jealous of the spring everyone back home is talking about, but the mornings and the evenings are cooler and perfect. Soon fall will set in here and I am beyond excited to welcome the rain, haha!

I am also at my 9 month mark and I am kind of blown away at how fast the time has past You all have to go watch that hump day commerical for me, ha! I don't feel like I've been here that long and that I only have 9 months left. Being a missionary has been such a blessing and I love Chile and her people with all my heart.

This week was full of adventures and wonderful experiences. Lots of lessons learned. We have the opportunity to visit a lot of families, in every sense of the word, and it is incredible the love for them that fills my heart. We have had a couple opportunities for service activities this last week too. It is incredible how much joy we can feel when we serve and love others, and I am so grateful for every opportunity to do so. When we see someone distressed or struggling, it is so important to think about the Savior and what would He do. But even if it is just to listen, there are always people that need help and I know for a fact we can be instruments in the hands of God to be answers to prayers, and how cool is that?

My thought for the week:

One of my favorite hymns, in English and Spanish, is Have I Done Any Good? I love the lyrics and thought I would share them with you all.

1.     1. Have I done any good in the world today?Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed
Has anyone’s burden been lighter today
Because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?
2.     Then wake up and do something more
Than dream of your mansion above.
Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.
3.     2. There are chances for work all around just now,
Opportunities right in our way.
Do not let them pass by, saying, “Sometime I’ll try,”
But go and do something today.
’Tis noble of man to work and to give;
Love’s labor has merit alone.
Only he who does something helps others to live.
To God each good work will be known.
Love you all. Have a great week!!!

Con amor,
Hermana Eibert

Spanish lyrics for Have I Done Any Good?

In Spanish too...sorry for all the emails from me today.
¿En el mundo acaso he hecho hoy
a alguno favor o bien?
¿Le he hecho sentir que ̮es bueno vivir?
¿He dado a él sostén?
¿He hecho ligera la carga de él
porque un alivio le di?
¿O acaso al pobre logré ayudar?
¿Mis bienes con él compartí?
4.     ¡Alerta!
Es noble y grande a otros servir;
hay mérito en trabajar.
Sólo el que trabaja se siente feliz,
y Dios le recompensará.
